It's perhaps less demanding to check the matches where Mick Foley didn't almost kick the bucket than the ones in which he, such is Mankind's preference for masochism. In any case, there was one specific event which came a bit frighteningly close - and for a change, Foley hadn't flung himself in the line of flame.
His 1994 match inverse bruiser Big Van Vader in Germany is scandalous today as the one in which Foley - then contending as Cactus Jack - had the vast majority of his ear ripped off from the side of his face. Had he not lost his aural limb, he could have lost his life.
